If you are experiencing an issue with the Rent Well eCourse or Portal, our support team may ask you to send a screenshot. A screenshot is simply a picture of what is displayed on your screen.

Follow the instructions below for your device.


Android Phones & Tablets

Method 1: Power Button + Volume Down Button

  1. Navigate to the screen you want to capture.

  2. Press and hold the Power button and Volume Down button at the same time.

  3. Hold for about 1 second.

  4. Your screen will flash or make a shutter sound.

  5. The screenshot will automatically save to your Photos or Gallery app.

Method 2: Screenshot Menu (Some Android Devices)

  1. Open the screen you want to capture.

  2. Swipe up and hold or tap the Recent Apps button.

  3. Tap Screenshot if available.

  4. The image will save automatically.

Finding Your Screenshot

  1. Open the Photos or Gallery app.

  2. Look for an album called Screenshots.

  3. Attach the screenshot when contacting support.


iPhone & iPad

If Your Device Has Face ID (No Home Button)

  1. Open the screen you want to capture.

  2. Press the Side Button and Volume Up button at the same time.

  3. Quickly release both buttons.

  4. A preview of the screenshot will appear in the lower-left corner.

  5. The screenshot is automatically saved.

If Your Device Has a Home Button

  1. Open the screen you want to capture.

  2. Press the Home Button and Power Button at the same time.

  3. Quickly release both buttons.

  4. The screenshot will be saved automatically.

Finding Your Screenshot

  1. Open the Photos app.

  2. Tap Albums.

  3. Open the Screenshots album.


Windows Laptop or Desktop

Method 1: Capture the Entire Screen

  1. Open the screen you want to capture.

  2. Press the Windows Key + Print Screen (PrtScn) at the same time.

  3. Your screen may briefly dim.

  4. The screenshot is automatically saved.

Finding Your Screenshot

  1. Open File Explorer.

  2. Click Pictures.

  3. Open the Screenshots folder.

Method 2: Select Part of Your Screen

  1. Open the screen you want to capture.

  2. Press Windows Key + Shift + S.

  3. Your screen will dim.

  4. Click and drag to select the area you want to capture.

  5. The screenshot is copied to your clipboard.

  6. Click the notification that appears to save it, or paste it into an email by pressing Ctrl + V.


MacBook or iMac

Capture the Entire Screen

  1. Open the screen you want to capture.

  2. Press Command (⌘) + Shift + 3.

  3. The screenshot will automatically save to your desktop.

Capture Part of the Screen

  1. Open the screen you want to capture.

  2. Press Command (⌘) + Shift + 4.

  3. Your cursor will change to a crosshair.

  4. Click and drag to select the area you want to capture.

  5. Release your mouse or trackpad.

  6. The screenshot will save automatically.

Finding Your Screenshot

Look on your desktop for a file beginning with:
"Screenshot" followed by the date and time.


Chromebook

Capture the Entire Screen

  1. Open the screen you want to capture.

  2. Press Ctrl + Show Windows (the key with a rectangle and two lines).

  3. The screenshot will automatically save.

Capture Part of the Screen

  1. Press Ctrl + Shift + Show Windows.

  2. Click and drag to select the area you want to capture.

  3. Release to save the screenshot.

Finding Your Screenshot

  1. Open the Files app.

  2. Select Downloads.

  3. Look for your screenshot.


How to Send a Screenshot to Support

  1. Save or locate your screenshot using the instructions above.

  2. Open your email or support ticket.

  3. Click Attach File or the Paperclip icon.

  4. Select your screenshot.

  5. Send the screenshot along with a brief description of the issue you are experiencing.


Helpful Tip

When taking a screenshot, make sure the error message, problem page, or issue you are reporting is clearly visible on your screen. This helps our support team diagnose and resolve your issue more quickly.
