Rent Well’s 90-day access policy is designed to keep students aligned with the most accurate and up-to-date version of the curriculum, ensuring a consistent learning experience across both online and in-person classes. If a student does not complete the full eCourse and their housing portfolio during their initial 90-day window, they will need to retake the course from the beginning. This requirement exists for several important reasons:
- The curriculum may have changed since your last enrollment. Rent Well regularly updates lessons, laws, videos, examples, and course activities to reflect current best practices and Oregon rental regulations. By the time a student returns, the content they viewed before may no longer match the most current curriculum. Restarting ensures every graduate receives the same up-to-date information.
- This policy mirrors the expectations for instructor-led classes. In our in-person classes, students are required to attend all sections to be eligible for graduation. If a student misses important parts of the training, they cannot simply catch up months later. The eCourse maintains the same standard of completeness and consistency to ensure program integrity.
- Students may have missed important knowledge during their first attempt. If a student steps away from the eCourse early or completes the sections out of order, they may miss important lessons, housing strategies, or legal information necessary to build a strong housing portfolio. Restarting ensures no one graduates without the full educational knowledge and foundation.
- Extended time between enrollments impacts learning and record-keeping. When long periods pass between a student’s initial attempt and their return to the program, it becomes increasingly difficult to maintain partial records for thousands of learners reliably. Requiring folks to start over enables the Program to maintain accurate documentation and provide consistent support to all students.
