You can do a simple assessment of whether you qualify for the Rent Guarantee Program ahead of your graduation from the course. The Rent Well program will double-check the eligibility of all eCourse students at the time of issuing a certificate. The certificate will clearly state whether you and your future landlord are eligible for the Rent Guarantee.
If you are taking a class in person or on Zoom, your instructor will review your eligibility before issuing you a certificate. To be eligible for the Rent Guarantee Program, you must:
- Be a graduate of Rent Well,
- Have low or limited income (at or below 60% Area Median Income for your county – you can look that up here: www.oregon.gov/ohcs/compliance-monitoring/Pages/rent-income-limits.aspx,
- Have at least one or more barriers to housing, and
- Have never used the Rent Guarantee Program fund before.
